All Enlightened Style products and programs, effective April 11, 2022, are in compliance with the Corded Window Coverings Regulations (CWCR) that will be fully enforced starting May 1, 2022. The CWCR severely limits the length and pull force of any cord on a product, which affects most every window coverings category. Read the regulations here.

WHY WE CARE. AND WHY YOU SHOULD TOO.

The challenge. Window treatment cords present a potential strangulation hazard to young children and pets. In order to be compliant with the Health Canada Corded Window Coverings Regulations (CWCR), we have taken drastic steps to modify several of our product categories in order to meet the new standard.

TIPS AND TACTICS

Armed with information, you can reduce or eliminate those risks and decorate through thoughtful design. In fact, download a copy of our
Child Safety Control Options Brochure for a quick reference guide.

We support the Health Canada initiatives and have provided a checklist of requirements:

  • Move all furniture, cribs, beds and climbable surfaces away from windows

  • Install only cordless window coverings in homes with young children.

  • Check your current window treatments for exposed or dangling cords and replace them with products that meet the CWCR standard
